What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a natural sugar complex which acts as a sponge and attracts water. It is also naturally occurring within our bodies and over time our body produce less resulting in the skin can becoming dehydrated. Dermal Fillers are injected below the skins surface to lift folds and wrinkle or to replace volume and rejuvenate the overall appearance of the face resulting in a natural, more youthful appearance.
What is involved in the treatment?
Dermal Fillers are injected into the skin using a very fine needle. Prior to treatment a topical anesthetic cream or dental block may be administered to increase comfort. The amount of Dermal Filler required varies from person to person but also the area of concern. They usually lasts between 6 to 12 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle and skin maintenance. Some longer acting Dermal Fillers can last up to 18 months.

It is very important to let us if you have any past or present health concerns or taking any medications prior to treatment. While undertaking these tyes of procedures, it is important to remember that we are injecting these solutions in to the skin, therefore minor side effects such as redness, bruising and swelling can occur. This will disappear within a couple of days although occasional severe bruising can last up to 10-14 days. Although most clients resume their daily routine immediately after treatment some more severe side-effects, such as severe bruising and infection, can occur.
