Every appointment begins with an individual consultation and clinical assessment.
The consultation may include consideration of:
• your general health and medical history
• current medications and allergies
• previous procedures and relevant clinical history
• your reasons for seeking information
• individual anatomy and facial movement
• suitability, limitations and available alternatives
• the option of postponing treatment or not proceeding
If a procedure is considered clinically appropriate, the proposed approach, expected recovery, potential outcomes, limitations and material risks will be explained before consent is requested.
A consultation does not create an obligation to proceed. Treatment will not be recommended when it is not considered clinically appropriate.
POTENTIAL RISKS AND RECOVERY
All medical and cosmetic procedures carry potential risks. The nature and likelihood of these risks vary according to the procedure, the individual and their medical history.
Potential risks may include:
• discomfort, tenderness, redness, swelling or bruising
• bleeding or infection
• allergic or inflammatory reactions
• asymmetry or an unintended cosmetic outcome
• temporary or persistent changes in sensation
• skin or tissue injury
• scarring or changes in skin colour
• vascular injury and associated tissue damage
• eye or vision complications
• the need for medical review or further treatment

Recovery differs between individuals and procedures. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising may occur, and some activities or other procedures may need to be avoided for a period of time. Individual aftercare instructions and information about when to seek medical assistance are provided when applicable.
